THE RACE

50th Frank Lloyd Wright Races

The Park District of Oak Park presents the 50th annual Frank Lloyd Wright Race — one of the longest running racing events in Illinois, featuring a 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run, Youth Mile for ages 6–14, and 50-Yard Dash for ages 3–5.

Run, jog, or walk the tree-lined streets of Oak Park and take in the remarkable architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright along the course. All participants receive a long-sleeved shirt, and finisher medals are awarded to every race participant.

All proceeds go directly toward the Park District financial assistance fund, enabling all Oak Park residents to access recreational opportunities.

START & FINISH
All races start and finish near Oak Park & River Forest High School. Races start just east of the high school on Ontario & Elmwood and finish at the high school at Erie & Scoville.

Your plan

Plan for your race success

First: REGISTER for the race and join the MOMENTUM OP Team.

Then follow these best practices, suggested by your MOMENTUM OP Coaches:

01

Commit to at least 3 MOMENTUM OP classes per week

Your Coaches recommend a minimum of 2 COMBO classes and 1 TREAD class each week of your training, as the foundation for the running/walking training you plan to do outside. Your MOMENTUM classes are the best organized and intentional way to train you for the running/walking stamina as well as the strength and injury-prevention movement that are necessary for a successful race.

02

Find your team and a training partner

Find your team at MOMENTUM and/or a partner who has also committed to a plan for training. Having a team or partner will help you stay focused on your goals and make your training a lot more fun! Discuss which MOMENTUM classes you will take together and create an outdoor training plan that includes at least 1 outdoor run/walk training day per week, in addition to your classes.

03

Pre-book your classes each week

All classes are helpful and beneficial to race-training, but check your app and the studio calendar for the classes that have been specifically designed and designated to help you train for YOUR best FLW race, whether you are a seasoned FLW participant or this is your very first time!
