Marathon training takes more than logging miles. Momentum OP adds treadmill intervals, total-body strength and race-specific conditioning to help you build endurance while staying stronger throughout your training cycle.
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is one of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and is known for its flat, fast course and cool fall weather. The 2026 race on October 11 was the 48th edition.
The course starts and finishes in Grant Park and tours 29 Chicago neighborhoods. More than 200,000 people applied for 2026, and the field topped 55,000 entries, a record for Chicago.
Amos Kipruto won the men’s race in a personal best of 2:01:09, the second-fastest time ever run in Chicago, and Hawi Feysa defended her title in 2:13:33. Chicago has produced seven marathon world records, including Kelvin Kiptum’s 2:00:35 in 2023.

Treadmill intervals work best alongside your outdoor long run. Use The Tread for quality speed and tempo work, and keep your long run outside to practice fueling and pacing.
Cut back volume, keep a few short pace efforts and prioritize sleep. Light mobility and a short shakeout in the days before the race help you arrive fresh.
